What happens at a well-child checkup?

  • A complete health and development history
  • A comprehensive physical exam
  • Needed immunizations (shots)
  • Needed lab tests
  • Health education
  • Vision and hearing testing
  • Developmental/Behavioral screening

Babies and toddlers need checkups more often. They should get 12 checkups before they are three years old.

  • 1 month
  • 2 months
  • 4 months
  • 6 months
  • 9 months
  • 12 months
  • 15 months
  • 18 months
  • 24 months
  • 30 months
  • 3 years
  • and then every year until age 21
