How to get ready for a doctor visit

Make a list of questions before your appointment
Take your medicine with you – including over-the-counter drugs, vitamins and herbs
Be on time
Be honest about your symptoms or problems
Ask questions and get detailed explanations
If you (or your child) are prescribed medicine, ask what it’s for, what it should do for you and what side effects may occur
Take notes
Tell them about other providers you’ve seen – like urgent care, the ER or specialists
